The Girls Geeks are Taking Over

Hi! So, I figured for my first post the best thing to do would be introduce myself. I’ll try not to make it to boring ^_^ My name is Melissa, but unless you’re (most of) my family, call me Mel. I’m 25 years old and currently live in Springfield, MA (as of Jan 2008). However, I spent 25 years of my life no more than 35 mins from Boston at any given Point. The bulk of it was about 15 mins from Boston. In Oct of 1996 I bought my first issue of MAD magazine, and I was hooked. I have every single issue ever put out since then, plus various issues from the 60′s,70′s,80′s and early 90′s. I have various books, and my crowned jewel, the first issue ever that Alfred E. Me and the Hulk

Okay this is just a cute picture and doesn’t have too much to do with Super Heroes except for the fact that it’s the HULK!! Welcome to Super Angels

Yes the name might be a bit much but no one ever said I have tons of creative talent. Please email me your suggestions for the name of this blog. But wait, what is this blog again? I bring you the Super Angels blog. A place where we talk about comics, post the latest news from all the comic book distributors, and reviews comics. Any coverage from San Diego Comic Con or future Comic book conventions will also go here. I’ll start off with a discussion question. If you could have any super hero power what would it be? I’m scared of heights, so flying wouldn’t work for me. I think being invisible would be cool. Then I can get into secret meetings that Gaming companies have. So what would super power would you want?

As part of her wish, she was a VIP at a local anime con and she was able to visit Funimation’s headquarters. Jay loves to draw, so the Texas Film Commission gave her art classes at a local college, drawing equipment and the ability to have a studio in her home. At Funimation, Jay and her family received a grand tour of the studios. She met the crew working on One Piece and even met Colleen Clinkenbeard who was working on a voice over. [source funimation]
