PeTA attacks Cooking Mama with their own casual game

Animal rights activists PETA seem to be gamers in their own right. They have launched a microsite entitled Cooking Mama: Mama Kills Animals designed to encourage consumers to contact Majesco to voice their concerns on the ethical treatment of animals. To which Majesco will probably say, it’s just a game? That would be my response anyway.
The site is a casual Flash game that looks very similar to Cooking Mama.
Here is their statement: “She looks innocent enough – a happy woman who has a twinkle in her eye and loves to cook – but if you take just a minute to think about what happens to the animals who are killed for Mama’s meals, a fun cooking game no longer seems quite so innocent.
“The idyllic barnyard scenes of years past, which are still portrayed in children’s books and games, have been replaced by windowless metal sheds, wire cages, gestation crates, and other confinement systems. These operations are now known as factory farms.
“If Mama knew what happened to animals on factory farms, she very well might want Majesco Entertainment to make a new Cooking Mama game that is much more animal-friendly. Please give Mama a voice – write to Majesco and politely ask that it create more vegetarian recipes for Mama or even a game with just vegetarian recipes.â€
To bad they didn’t read Vainya’s article about Gardening Mama for the DS. Maybe they would have felt a little better.
