You are an explorer and you have the whole world to explore. However, you need to keep a sketch journal of every living thing that you see and on top of that you have to finish the sketches before the day is over!

    Graphics:
The graphics are very simple and actually they could be better. Though there is some variety in the boards and tiles some of them do look the same and it’s hard to tell which tiles are which. The tiles do however correspond to the level that you are playing. For example on the Greenland level there are tiles shaped like ice cubes and snowflakes. The board shapes are interesting as well. Some were even shaped like trees and such. Even though the quality of the graphics is not that well drawn the game still had enough variety to still be enjoyed.

    Controls:
As with most games, the controls are very simple, take a tile and swap it with an adjacent tile to make a match of three or more to erase the green tiles. That’s pretty much it. Very simple controls make this game easy to pick up and play. The fact that the concept is so familiar makes it so much better.

    Flow:
The game’s flow is linear. It starts outs with something small, like sketching wild life in the United States. After that the game opens up to a continent at a time and then the game gets interesting. At this point you can pick where you want to go in the world. Some levels are naturally harder than most. Within the level however there are five animals to sketch and five sub-levels to sketch. In the end the levels are through and new areas will open up.

    Fun Factor:
Oh, the best part. This game is so much fun! It’ll have you playing until the end. There are only two modes, Safari and Relax. Each mode is equally fun. While relax mode is just to enjoy the puzzle, Safari mode is will keep you on edge with the time limits and harder puzzles.

    Female Factor:
The game is pretty much gender neutral. Because this is a puzzle game it has no characters except the player of course so it leaves a lot to the imagination.

    Replay Value:
It’s a very addictive game. At first glance it looks as if you will tire of the game quickly. But after getting the hang of the game, you want to feverishly race to complete your journal and learn about all the different characters. With replayable levels and Relax mode you’ll be playing this game forever. I really love this game and neither I nor my whole family can get enough of it. I suggest everyone buy this game. I especially like the journal and after my last rave about Zoo Hospital this game is right up my alley. I’ve learned so much already! So what are you waiting for?

Editor’s Note: $2 of every purchase of Safari Sketch goes to the Association of Zoos & Aquariums a nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of accredited zoos and aquariums in the areas of animal care, wildlife conservation, education and science.
