EA Sports Active is out today. Gamestop campaign is actually good!

EA Sports Active is in all retail stores starting today for the Nintendo Wii. The fitness game is created by EA with the help of Oprah’s trainer, Bob Greene. The extra pieces included are a leg strap and a rubber band to enhance the workout. At a recent EA event, I was able to try EA Sports Active. First we walked through the customization screens and the daily journal. The game has an expansive diary system for you to enter your extra workout events and your nutrition habits. When you buy EA Sports Active you are instantly set in a motivational program called the 30 Day Challenge. The 30 Day Challenge is a fixed workout program that keeps you on task and does a great job of getting you used to using the program. A select group of people were chosen to participate in a 30 day challenge before the

New Tomb Raider movie to go back to the beginning

The next Tomb Raider movie will not be continuing the story from where it left off. The new movie will be an “origins” film focusing on a younger version of Lara Croft. Producer Dan Lin confirmed the project during the premier of Terminator: Salvation. “We’re rebooting Lara Croft. Really excited – it’s a great origin story that we’re going to tell. A very character-oriented I would say more realistic than the past Lara Croft movies,” he told About.com. “I would say it’s like Terminator – character-driven action. I think for me the Lara Croft games and movies have gone a little too action-oriented. I wanted to have action, but with character.” While a lead actress has yet to be announced, my bet is Megan Fox will play Angelina Jolie’s replacement. [source via TombRaiderFanBoy] Follow

    E3 2009 Floorplans released

I don’t know whether to be excited or already overwhelmed! The ESA has released the floorplans for E3 this year. I have already downloaded them to go over your Gamingangels.com E3 team, but the one thing I can say is, “wow”! The maps show outlines of booths that are pretty big. Which definitely reminds us of the old E3. The South and West halls are pretty full and the second floor does seem to have alot of meeting rooms. I’m so excited for E3 this year and from these maps, I am certain of one thing…comfortable shoes! Follow

World Cyber Games to hold finals at NY Anime Festival

The World Cyber Games is going to be holding it’s team finals at the New York Anime Festival. The New York Anime Festival is a popular convention in New York about Japanese pop culture. The convention is September 25-27 at the Jacob K. Javits Center and we should have some GamingAngels editors there! On the WCG side of things, 200 gamers will battle for 9 different gaming titles. There are only 13 spots available on Team USA, so the competition should be fierce. Team USA will go on to travel to Chengedu, China to compete in the WCG 2009 Grand Final. “We are extremely proud to partner with Reed Exhibitions – the very best in event entertainment,” said Aaron Smolick, Director of Marketing with the WCG. “The WCG is elevating eSports to the next level in North America and proving once again that we are the most significant competitive circuit
