In-depth look at a mission in [Prototype] – First Look

Back in Februrary at New York Comic Con I was able to check out the upcoming game [Prototype]. You can check out my initial thoughts in my post here. I’m still interested to check out the full game, and I got a chance to do so today when a video was released of a more in-depth look at one of the missions in the game. You play as Alex Mercer who awoke in a hospital with no memories and strange powers. A viral epidemic is sweeping across Manhattan, top-secret Black Watch Special Forces move in, transforming it into a war zone. In the mission shown, you have to assume the guise of a Black Watch mercenery and complete a mission in order to gain intellegence on what the army is planning on sending after you. The video itself looks great, and as someone who lives in NYC, I have to

In this movie Naruto faces the challenge of stopping a maniacal man named Haido from getting the power contained in the stones of Gelel. Haido claims that he wants to use the power to create a utopia and there is no sacrifice too great that will stop him from making his journey to the mines that contain the stones. Google Wave moving toward new web

Google is constantly innovating and creating new technology but this announcement has me stunned and even partially confused. Google announced that the direction they see the web heading towards with the move to HTML 5 standard. This means the ability to run 3D games and movies in the browser without plug-ins. But Google is always pushing things further with creating a brand new way to communicate. It’s called Google Wave. At the base, Wave takes email and instant messaging and combines them on the web. Developed by brothers Lars and Jens Rasmussen and Stephanie Hannon from Google’s Syndey, Australia office, Wave was built on the notion of what if email was invented today. Techcrunch has a great write up on the technology. They go through the features and how Wave would be used. It still boggles my mind, but it will be great to see the new technology in action.

WoW Females are the fantasies of lonely mens’ dreams

Women Gamers.com has announced their 2009 Scholarship winner for National Computer Camp. Congratulations to Rachel A. (age 12) from California! Her winning essay focuses on what she would like to improve in World of Warcraft. The essay question was: What is your favorite video game, and how would you change the design to improve it? Rachel has some strong opinions. The WoW females (especially the Draenei, Blood Elves, Night Elves, and Humans) are the fantasies of lonely mens’ dreams. The Night Elves, Blood Elves, and Draenei are made to look really sexy and their clothing is very skimpy. The Human females’ breasts are huge. I’m not kidding! They look like they had plastic surgery. It’s not surprising that some lady gamers on WoW are playing as dudes. I would make the Elves and Draenei a bit more innocent-looking and reduce the Humans’ teats a bit. I think they would look
