    If I Had a 1,000,000 Flavours

    I’d be full! A few weeks back I read about Ben & Jerry’s bringing out a “Canadian” flavour of ice cream, and that it would be based off of the popular Barenaked Ladies song If I Had 1,000,000 Dollars. As both a Canadian and a fan of the song, I felt it was my patriotic duty to run out to the store and buy this wonderful concoction. Built upon a base of chocolate and vanilla ice creams, this treat has chocolate covered toffee, white chocolate chunks, peanut butter cups and chocolate covered almonds. If you are a choco-holic like myself, you are going to be in heaven with each spoonful of this ice cream. And another great thing about this ice cream is that all of the royalties that normally would have gone to the BNL are instead being donated to the ABC Canada Literary Foundation.     E3: Microsoft Press Conference Summary

    It has begun! And, boy oh boy, did Microsoft start us off with a BANG! (Please bare with me as I translate the frantic notes I was sent from the girls who were on hand for the event.) Microsoft opened it all up in a big way, with Rock Band Beatles and Paul and Ringo (as well as Yoko Ono and Olivia Harrison) were on hand for the announcement. The game is going to be released on 9.9.09 (the old rumored date for the non-existent Dreamcast 2) and is chock full of Beatles classics: I am the Walrus, Back in the USSR, and Abbey Road. All You Need is Love will be an exclusive DLC track for the Xbox 360. All the proceeds from downloading this track will go to Doctors Without Borders.     Warner Bros Interactive & MTV Games release first trailer for LEGO Rock Band

    Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and MTV Games has released the FIRST trailer for LEGO(r) Rock Band. In the trailer, you’ll see rockers from the LEGO universe jamming, singing, playing drums, and strumming their guitars to the chart topping song “So What” by Pink. LEGO Rock Band will be featured in the Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment booth at E3 this week, June 2nd – 4th, in the South Hall #2047.

    Vacation on Monkey Island This Summer

    Amidst all the other announcements we are going to see over the next few days, LucasArts got a preemptive jump on the E3 news by announcing they are working with Telltale Games to bring gamers back to Monkey Island. Tales of Monkey Island will be released as five monthly episodic releases featuring an all new storyline for PC and Wiiware gamers. And later in the summer, The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition will be landing on the Xbox 360 Arcade.     Lego Harry Potter: 1-4 Launches in 2010

    Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment confirmed that TT Games is working on Lego Harry Potter: 1-4. Lego Harry Potter: 1-4 will focus on the early years of the Hogwarts crew, following Harry Potter and his friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, in addition to other familiar characters from the franchise. According to WBIE, gamers will be given a chance to attended classes at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, as well as engage in other wizardly activities such as casting spells, mixing potions, and flying on broomsticks. Lego Harry Potter: 1-4 is scheduled for release in 2010.

    Starcraft II to ship this year

    Blizzard has been pretty quiet with information on Starcraft II. But today, Blizzard boss Mike Morhaime’s confirmed that StarCraft II will release this year, speaking in a pre-E3 investor webcast. “We’re targeting an end of year release-this year-for StarCraft II, but, as always, we won’t release it until it meets our standards and the expectations of our players,” he said in the call. The beta should be starting this summer. Obviously Blizzard can pull the plug and delay the game at any time. [source via BigDownload]
