    Women & Digital Life Study

Women are becoming an increasing market for technology and in gaming.  Some of the top brands among women include Apple, Sony, and Microsoft.  Even at this year’s E3, each of the big press conferences dedicated blocks of time to talk about games that target the ‘tween girls and female market with games that focused on exercise and other activities. “As women close the gender-gap in technology use, being top-of-mind is more important than before” said Donna Hall, co-director of the Women & Digital Life study. “Teens and young women influence their parents’ choices while moms make choices for themselves and their children, suggesting strong potential for additional Apple products in the home.” You can read about the full Women & Digital Life study here. Tune In To Terebi – Mei-chan no Shitsuji

Next up in my Japanese TV spotlight is a completely outrageous and delightful tale revolving around a very unique school and the very interesting students who attend it. Mei grew up very simply; the daughter of loving parents who ran a small udon shop in a modest town. Surrounded by friends and family who cared for her, Mei never knew much about her heritage. Everything changes one day when her parents have passed on, and a rather handsome man arrives claiming to be her butler. As we soon discover, Mei is the heir to a large international company. Her father removed himself from the Hongo family when he broke an arranged marriage and decided to spend his life with her mother. Now that her parents are gone, the head of the Hongo clan gives Mei a choice: attend St. Lucia’s Gakuen and become a proper heir to the family business,

    Dante’s Inferno protest was staged

At E3 2009, a group of protesters gathered to yell about the evilness of Dante’s Inferno, an upcoming Electronic Arts game. Twenty people stood outside the convention center handing out pamphlets and carrying signs that said, “Hell is not a Video Game” and “Trade in Your PlayStation for a PrayStation.” Turns out that all twenty of those people were hired actors by Electronic Arts for a viral marketing campaign. EA spokeswoman Holly Rockwood says the stunt was arranged by a viral marketing agency hired by EA. Look for our impressions of Dante’s Inferno this weekend on GamingAngels.com. Follow

Konami has announced that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of Patriots has joined the Playstation 3 Greatest Hits collection. That means the game is now cheaper. The original Metal Gear Solid game will be coming to Playstation Network on June 18 for $9.99. “Since it’s debut in 1987, the Metal Gear franchise has stood the test of time and continues to break new standards in story-telling and gameplay,” said Anthony Crouts, Vice President of Marketing for Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc., “These two releases are a perfect way to bridge the original game that created this genre with the latest masterpiece that brought it to an all-new level.” Follow

Palms Hotel opens the Barbie Suite

The Palms Hotel is known for partying and it’s unique suites. To continue Barbie’s 50th Anniversary celebration, the Palms hotel has created the ultimate Barbie Suite. The 2,350 square foot suite can hold up to 50 of your friends and is filled with Barbie branding. There are three queen-sized beds, an extra-large Jacuzzi, two-way fireplace, and tons of classic Barbie items and Barbie artwork. No date on when the suite will open. I also tried to look on the Palms website for a price. My assumption is expensive. Now if only the Palms would open a Hello Kitty Suite. Follow
