Dante’s Inferno protest was staged

At E3 2009, a group of protesters gathered to yell about the evilness of Dante’s Inferno, an upcoming Electronic Arts game. Twenty people stood outside the convention center handing out pamphlets and carrying signs that said, “Hell is not a Video Game” and “Trade in Your PlayStation for a PrayStation.”

Turns out that all twenty of those people were hired actors by Electronic Arts for a viral marketing campaign. EA spokeswoman Holly Rockwood says the stunt was arranged by a viral marketing agency hired by EA.

Look for our impressions of Dante’s Inferno this weekend on GamingAngels.com.
