God of War 3 at E3 2009

We’re at the Sony press conference sitting in front row ready to see what they have to show us. We’re expecting big things today. Gamers are here from GAP and Naughty Dog fans wearing uncharted 2 tshirts.

We plan to see uncharted 2 as well as MAG and of course information from psp go.

Starting the press conference with a video.

Jack trenton is starting off the show. He made a joke about the press leaks and how he was surprised anyone is here. 364 games are coming to the playstation platforms this year. During the press conference he’s going to show why Playstation is going to continue to be a main stay in the industry with 2009 being the best year ever.

Playstation 2 is still selling well in it’s ninth year. They will remain committed to system as long as it shows value. The Playstation 2 is the perfect family console and will receive 100 new titles this year.

The goal last year was to sell 10 million PS3. Globally they sold 22 million units.

Playstation network accounts are at 24 million and keep seeing growth.

Then a joke about bags under our eyes from playing inFamous for the PS3. 35 exclusive titles on the PS3 this year. Introducing Even Wells to show uncharted 2 among thieves.

Even talks about competitive and coop modes. The multiplayer beta starts tonight at midnight. Single player looks impressive with massive environments and major acction. Scene shows a helicopter shooting at you while you are running on rooftops nevermind the people on the ground shooting at you. Very impressive fast action

MAG demo is on now and Andy Bowmen of Super Interactive is going to show us the game. MAG pits 256 players against each other in a field of battle. The map is freaking huge. You pull out to see all the squads that are involved. A player can respawn via the helicopters that were called in. Squad leaders are responsible for calling an airstrike. MAG will be out this fall.

It’s time for portable platform talk now. 400 psp titles are currently planned. There will be a rock band unplugged bundle. Kaz Hirai, President of Networked Products and Services group is on stage to talk about how they worked to design the next step in the psp line, psp go. Nicknamed the worst kept secret of e3. Its really thin and looks great in silver. The screen is 50%smaller and 40% lighter. Sense Me is coming to the psp and will launch music on your psp based on your mood. Sony is lowering the price of the toolkit by 80% for devs. Titles will be available for download digitally or you can still buy umd. The PSP Go! will launch on October 1 for $249.

Video movie service will be available natively on the psp. Makes it easier to download video and game content directly to your psp. The idea is to make “More content that is easier to get on your psp”. Father of Gran Turismo, Kazunouri Yamauchi from Polyphony Digital announces Gran Turismo for the PSP. They show a demo of it running on the psp go and its running at 60 frames per second. Single player mode has races and there is a mission challenge mode where you can build your driving skills. Trading and sharing of cars with other players is an important aspect of the game with over 800 cars to collect, teaming up with friends and trading helps you collect them all. Gran Turismo will be out on October 1, 2009

Kaz is coming back on stage to talk about quality from the Metal Gear Solid franchise. Kojima is here to talk about Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for the PSP Go . It takes place 10 years after Metal Gear Solid 3 and is a true sequel of the Metal Gear franchise. Kojima will be deeply involved in creating this title along with the MGS4 team.

Playstation home announces that 6.5 million people worldwide using the service.

2009 is about content on the PS3. A video shows the titles but it’s way too many titles going by too fast to list. Rockstar Games announces an exclusive to PS3 called Agent. Agent will place a player into 1970s espionage thriller. Assasins Creed 2 demo on the PS3 is next. Leonardo di Vinci is a friend in the game and makes you inventions you can use like a flying machine. The double head blade attack gets quite a reaction from the crowd. Assassin’s Creed 2 will be out this holiday 2009.

Square enix announcement time. Showing a video of Final Fantasy XIII. Introducing Final Fantasy XIV online for PS3 launching 2010 brand new MMO.

Now we are talking about a motion controller that looks like a bingo dotter with a glowing sphere that the Playstation Eye can track. True one to one tracking showing some uses with character control. Great demo that showed the precise measurement of actions. Will be used in Spring 2010.

Little Big Planet announced new DLC that will include Disney characters this fall.

William Ho and James Creed Modnation Racers created for the Create Share Play initiative. Racers look like vinyl toys . All racers and cars that are created can be shared online as well. Users can create tracks with the track studio tool in a matter of minutes. Modnation Racers is set to release in 2010

Stig Assmusmen starts the God of War 3 live demo. It’s the final chapter in the trilogy. God of War 3 is set for a 2010 release.
