E3 First Look -Rogue Warrior
Rogue Warrior First Look
Today, at the Bethesda booth, Trina and I got a chance to take a look at Rogue Warrior which will be out this Fall for the PS3, Xbox 360 and on Steam. Rogue Warrior is a story of a Navy Seal, Dick Marcinko. It’s a first-person shooter where you take this badass real life Seal, Dick Marcinko through an effort to discover a North Korean terrorist group in Cold War USSR. It’s interesting to watch the game, and hear comments from the main character (voiced by Mickey Rourke) knowing that you’re taking on the persona of a character that exists in real life. It’s graphic FPS where you can decide as you play whether or not to play him as a cover-to-cover shooter or a guy with a run-and-shoot style. There’s several missions to play through as Dick uncovers a bigger conspiracy that he has to figure out and each mission is mean to give you about an hour of gameplay. While watching the demo, I laughed several times at both some of the comments he makes during his discoveries or kill shots, and the sort of stereotypical 80′s action-movie style music playing in the background.
One of the more interesting pieces of the game, is the kill shots available in gameplay. Depending on the enemy and the approach you take, Dick can execute a variety of kill shots (killing blows) to the enemy. There’s over 25 different kill moves that you’ll be able to pull off throughout the game. And we didn’t get to see it, but on release there will be a multiplayer mode available over XBL, PSN or Steam where you and your squad can fight against the Russians or the North Koreans. It’ll definitely be worth checking out the finished product when it releases this fall if you’re a fan of FPS games.
