Sentai Filmworks Announces Three New Anime Licenses

Destiny of the Shrine Maiden

The team at Sentai Filmworks have just announced they they have just acquired 3 titles that they will be releasing in August: Daphne in the Brilliant Blue, Destiny of the Shrine Maiden and Dokkoida?!.

Daphne in the Brilliant Blue Collection One introduces us to Maia who dreams of entering into the Marine Environment Agency, but when she can’t pass the entrance exams she also cannot remain a student either and she loses her accommodation! With no source of income and nowhere to stay, Maia wanders into the middle of a shoot-out between fugitive convicts and some special agents called Neriedes who only take on dangerous and high-paying jobs. Desperate Maia agrees to be involved in the next job with the Nereides – only she is going to be used as bait!

Destiny of the Shrine Maiden Complete Collection (pictured) follows 3 girls who are all friends at school: Shy and timid Himeko, popular and beautiful Chikane, and Himeko’s childhood friend Souma. On Himeko’s 16th Birthday things for the 3 girls change, and it all starts when the mark of the sun appears on Himeko’s chest. While they are trying to figure out what the mark means, they also have to figure out what is going on with Souma when a black aura of agony presents itself. On top of that they have to worry about an eight-headed beast possibly returning to Japan!

Dokkoida?! Complete Collection shows us the story of 19 year old Suzuo (who is desperate to find a job) and the Galaxy Federation Police (who are looking to cover up their personnel shortage by using mechanised power-suits). Tampopo needs an earthling test subject for the companys power-suit prototype and decides on Suzuo as her perfect candidate. Each power-suit has a candidate and they must battle each other without revealing their identities otherwise the results of the test will be a failure. This is going to prove a bit hard considering they all are living in the same apartment building to save the company money!

These aren’t titles for the younger anime fans however, because they all contain adult material in them – some have sex and drugs, while others contain nudity and bad language.
