San Diego Comic Con panel updates!

San Diego Comic Con 2009 is in a couple of weeks and the panel updates are starting to come in from a variety of companies. I’ll be posting the various panel information so that you can create your Comic Con schedule early. Early planning helps since my past experience at the last few SDCC is that panels tend to have long lines. Getting their early and planning ahead is everything. Here is what some companies are planning: At the Paramount Home Entertainment booth, fans can be photographed in the helm of the Enterprize and enter to win a limited edition of the Captain’s chair. Fans can also get a 3D photo with B.O.B. from Monsters vs Aliens and try to win other giveaways. Drawn Together creators will be in an animated panel on Thursday, July 23 from 7-8pm in Room 6BCF. Age of Conan gets improvements offers free play

Funcom has announced massive improvements to Age of Conan and are so convinced that the improvements make it a better game that they invite anyone with a previously active account to play for two weeks for free. The re-evaluation offer is good from July 8th to July 22 to anyone with a closed account in good standing. “For anyone with an inactive account who ever thought about giving it another try, this is your chance,” says Morten Larssen, Vice-President of Sales and Marketing at Funcom. “After the hugely successful launch last year we immediately started working on updates that would make the game better and provide more content for players, and that is what we have been doing this past year. With the most recent update just out the door, this is the time to ask players to come back and see the results!” Read about all the updates here.

    Battlefield 1943 is available now

The title has the epic scale battles for only 1200 Microsoft points. There is a free trial available on Xbox Live and Playstation Network. Battlefield 1943 has two new modes and four classic WWII Battlefield maps: Wake Island, Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima and Coral Sea. “We are excited to witness the intense battles that are going to take place on these tropical Pacific Theatre maps, ripping them to shreds and leaving nothing but debris behind,” says Gordon Van Dyke, Producer on Battlefield 1943. “Reliving these classic maps with the DICE Frostbite engine’s destruction capabilities and full FPS gameplay ups the ante on what can be done in downloadable games. We’re proud to be able to provide this experience to shooter fans for just £9.99.” (UK quote)
