    EA teases AftertheImpact.com

I love it when companies have a few hidden things up their sleeves. Today EA.com twitter posted this link: EA: http://www.aftertheimpact.com/ The website so far is a very large screen of what seems to be an airplane crash. If you just stay on the site, the sounds, music changes. It’s very interesting, but using your mouse you can zoom in on a few areas and learn about the settings. The tower seems to be sending a signal to citizens about illegal activity. There is a guy standing on a ledge that seems to be taking things in and he can’t remember much of what happened. There is an airline ticket for a passenger Benjamin Green but it is not exactly clear that that is the guy on the ledge. Definitely visit the site and take a look around. The art is interesting. It looks like there are four weeks of

PopCap Brings Zuma to the Facebook Party!

Image by lambatofa via Flickr In the footsteps of the tremendous success of Bejeweled Blitz, PopCap Games has launched the beta of the social version of their action puzzle favorite, Zuma. This version combines everything everyone already digs about Zuma and tosses in the social atmosphere of Facebook so we can try to outscore and outmedal all of our friends. “Zuma Web Connect is our latest product to blend social features such as rankings and medals into our games,” said John Vechey, PopCap co-founder and all-around gaming wizard. “While Bejeweled, Peggle and more recently Plants vs. Zombies get most of the attention, Zuma has quietly been an ongoing hit for us on all sorts of devices and in almost every corner of the world. Zuma is enormously popular in Germany and Asia, for example, and is one of the highest-rated iPod games of all time.” Personally, I really enjoy the

    Bioshock 2 delayed until 2010

Take-Two Interactive has announced today that BioShock 2 won’t be released in the company’s fourth quarter as previously planned. Yes, that means a delay. The company now is saying the title will be released in “fiscal year 2010″. Which could mean that Bioshock 2 will miss the holiday season entirely. Take-Two blames the delay on the need to “provide additional development time for the title.” Strauss Zelnick, Chairman of Take-Two called the delay “the right decision for the product,” but calls the impact on its revised financial outlook a “disappointment.” “The decision to shift a release date is never an easy one, especially with a product as highly anticipated as BioShock 2,” Take-Two CEO Ben Feder said in a financial release. “We felt that it was essential to invest the additional time to ensure that this title will deliver what its fans expect and deserve.”

    Analysts predicting PS3 price cut..again

Games Industry Analyst, Michael Pachter is once again talking about how Sony is going to cut the price of it’s Playstation 3 console in the near future. Pachter stated: “We think that the console manufacturers will therefore be forced to consider a price cut before year-end, with Sony cutting the PS3’s price by October 1st. “Further, we do not think that Nintendo’s hardware forecast figures are achievable without a price cut, and we expect one around the same time as the PS3 price cut. “It is likely both manufacturers will cut by $50, with Sony making up any lack of increased demand with a software bundle. We expect Microsoft to follow suit.” Sony continues to deny any price cuts at this point.

UK Game Sales for last week put Tiger on top

Fight Night Round 4 held onto the top spot for two weeks but last week got beat by Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10. Fight Night dropped to second place. We don’t get a breakdown by console, but Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 does have the Wii Motion Plus included with it. Which could have had an impact on sales. Movie based games are in the third and fourth spot with Transformers leading Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince. With the movie coming out this week expect to see Harry climb in the charts a bit more. EA holds it’s ground as top publisher with 7 titles in the top 20. Nintendo and Activision both have 4 places. Which may be the lowest amount that Nintendo has had in the countdown in years.
