Nancy Drew Warnings at Waverly Academy this October

The 21st Nancy Drew PC adventure game is due out this October. Nancy Drew: Warnings at Waverly Academy puts players in the role of Nancy as she goes undercover at an all-girls boarding school. She’s there to investigate the threatening notes and accidents that valedictorian candidates have been receiving. “As empowering as our games are for female players, at the end of the day they still must be as challenging and fun as their competitors, and with Warnings at Waverly Academy we have all the compelling ingredients needed for a hit,” said Megan Gaiser, president and CEO of Her Interactive. “Our games are really mystery-adventures wrapped in layers of increasingly complex puzzles that require deductive reasoning to not only get through, but to ultimately determine the culprit, and that sense of accomplishment is what keeps our community so committed to the franchise.” Nancy Drew: Warnings at Waverly Academy will be

    Major Twilight recast

Summit Entertainment is moving fast with their Twilight cast. Eclipse is already set to start filming August 20th and the studio is already making changes. Fan favorite Rachelle Lefevre will not be returning for the third installment of the Twilight series as Victoria. Instead, she will be replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard. Summit says: “Rachelle brought “Victoria” to great screen life and Bryce will bring a new dimension to the character. The franchise is lucky to have such a talented actress as Bryce coming in to fill the role.” But on PerezHilton.com Rachelle speaks about how the recast was a surprise even to her! “I was fully committed to the ‘Twilight’ saga, and to the portrayal of Victoria. I turned down several other film opportunities and, in accordance with my contractual rights, accepted only roles that would involve very short shooting schedules. My commitment to ‘Barney’s Version’ is only ten

Combat Arms gets infected with Zombies

Nexon America’s Combat Arms is getting infected. Quarantine Mode is brand new to Combat Arms and players can fight as soldiers or as infected zombies. The mission then becomes to either destroy the infected or infect as many as possible. “This isn’t the usual zombies invading, eating your brains type of scenario,” said Min Kim, Nexon America’s vice president of marketing. “In Quarantine Mode, the fun doesn’t end with fending off zombies. Even if you get infected, you can continue playing as a zombie and spread the zombie bug to your friends and other soldiers. This makes for a messy, gooey fun fight with only the stoutest soldier able to avoid becoming a chew toy.” Players can try out the game at Combatarms.nexon.net Follow

Goblins and Worgen as new playable races?

Thanks to some data-miners, it was discovered a couple weeks back that there may be some new races heading our way in the next WoW expansion. Based on the discovery of Goblin and Worgen looking Halloween masks, speculation has arose about these being new races to play. One of the blues I believe has said in response to people asking about a new race for the next expansion that they would want to “pre-seed” a new race, or basically using a race that’s already in the game instead of coming up with an entirely new race like they did with the Draenei. Now I’m a bit skeptical. MMOChampion has posted their own screen shot of these new Halloween masks, along with others: Naga, Murloc, Vrykul and Orgre. For all we know Blizzard planted these skins in the game specificly for the speculation that it would cause once a dataminer found

Disney brings Flynn’s Arcade to Life

The sequel to Tron is officially named to Tron Legacy. Disney used San Diego Comic Con to advertise the movie and did an amazing job by setting up Flynn’s Arcade. The arcade was setup like the original arcade in the movie. The minute you walk in, it was an amazing feel. You are surrounded by the most amazing collection of old school arcades. Space Invaders, Donkey Kong Jr, Paperboy, Space Defenders, Mrs. Pac-Man and more were all working and free to play. I could have spent all night in the arcade. Then the Tron arcade machine moved aside and as you go down the hallway to Daft Punk (the band that is doing the soundtrack for Tron Legacy). On the screens were various sketches. The Tuxboard has the entire song for you to hear. Tron Legacy Theme by tuxboard Then came the item that made us all gasp, they actually

Today is the release date for the final episode in the four part Wallace & Gromit adventure released by TellTale Press. If you’ve enjoyed the last three episodes, be on the lookout for Wallace & Gromit’s “The Bogey Man”. About the game: The final episode of Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Adventures completes a four-month escapade that has taken the famous inventor and his faithful pooch through a madcap series of wild and engaging new stories. The finale episode, entitled “The Bogey Man,” puts Wallace’s mechanical and social skills—not to mention his golf swing—to the test. Filled with unrequited romance, hidden mysteries, perplexing contraptions, and a heavy dose of comic relief, “The Bogey Man” brings the series to an exciting climax in grand Wallace & Gromit style. In the previous episode, Wallace inadvertently got down on one knee before his prim neighbor Felicity Flitt – who interpreted the gesture as a

Foundation 9 cuts back on staff

Sadly there are more layoffs in the gaming industry today. Foundation 9 has cut back on staff, closed its Fizz Factor studio and merged Amaze and Griptonite due to the economy. “It’s important to F9 to remain a strong and profitable studio, so that we can continue to provide the best possible services to our publishing partners and employees,” read a company statement. “From time to time we make decisions to grow or shrink capacity in relation to market conditions, and we do not make public comments on these decisions. “We can confirm that we recently merged the operations of our two Kirkland studios, Amaze and Griptonite. Having separate ‘console’ and ‘handheld’ studios under the same roof simply didn’t make sense in light of the convergence in capabilities of modern game hardware. “J.C Connors, studio head of Griptonite, will lead the combined studio. As part of that restructuring, and our
