Everyone and their dog appears to be getting into the Netbook offering racket.  Blockbuster is now offering up a netbook for sale at 1 000 locations within the United States.  According to Joanne Delorenzo, the vice president, product for Blockbuster Inc. “Blockbuster strives to provide consumers with convenient access to media entertainment when and where they want it. Enhancing our consumer electronics offerings with an affordably priced netbook that allows customers to access our online rental, retail and download services, whether they’re at home or on the road, is a natural fit,”

The netbook that will be offered will be an ARCHOS 10 netbook and it will be offered at the Blockbuster stores for $299.99 (Assuming US) The spects of the netbook according to the press release are as follows:
“features a sleek design, a pleasingly light (less than 2.8 pounds) and compact size, a 10-inch ultra-bright LED screen and a small, but easy-to-use keyboard. Also included in the WiFi-ready Netbook are an Intel(®)( )ATOM™ processor, 1GB RAM, a 160GB hard drive, Microsoft(®)( )Windows™ XP and a built-in web cam. Featured software include Lotus® Symphony, Outlook(®) Express, Internet Explorer(®), parental controls, virus protection and multi-media applications like XnView™ for viewing pictures and vTuner™ for Web TV and Radio.”

Would any of you be interested in this netbook? or do you think too many companies are entering the netbook offering game?
