Ryan Reynolds cast as Green Lantern

Ryan Reynolds is moving from Marvel into the DC Universe. Reynolds was tapped yesterday to play Green Lantern. The Warner-Bros film is being directed by Martin Campbell and produced by Donald De Line and Greg Berlanti.

The rumors started earlier in the week when Jared Leto and Justin Timberlake joined Reynolds with testing for the role.

The deal is not sealed yet, but if Reynolds takes the role he’ll be the only actor to play both a Marvel and a DC character. Deadpool is still set to get his own spinoff movie and Reynolds is still attached to that.

    I actually really like the idea of Reynolds as the Green Lantern. Could be pretty cool.

    Wasn’t he in Xmen Origins as Dead Pool? I’m not sure if he’d make a good Green Lantern. I mean he is a very witty and funny guy so I think he should play the Flash instead.

    I completely agree with MGSRocks1. He would make a GREAT Flash. Maybe they aren’t ready to do a Flash movie yet, but still.
