Last week I was able to head over to  check out the little piece of tropical paradise that Nintendo created in order to showcase their new game Wii Sports Resort. It was complete with a small pool, sand, palm trees and refreshing drinks. Let me tell you, this was one heck of a strange site to see smack dab in the middle of New York City!

As I walked in I was given a blue and white flower lei and shown to the cabana tents that were set up that had Wii consoles and TVs set up for some of the games you could play, as well as a few booths for free-play.  I was able to sneak in and play the Archery,  Swords and Canoeing. I was surprised with how much of a difference the Wii MotionPlus addon to the controller helped with the coordination. The Archery was much easier to play with than Link’s Crossbow Training was since I felt that I had better control over my aim.  Swords was just great all around fun, and the canoeing was a lot trickier than I thought it would be, and I unfortunately lost the race I played against another person.

Wii Sports also includes Frisbee, Basketball, Cycling, Power Cruising, Table Tennis, Air Sports, Bowling, Golf and Wakeboarding, and it will come with the Wii MotionPlus sensor attachment for the Wii mote. You can now pick up Wii Sports Resort in stores!
