Things to see at San Diego Comic Con

It must be getting close to San Diego Comic Con because my email box is filling with every company announcing what they will be doing at SDCC. Instead of filling GA with 10,000 posts, I’ll be accumulating the information and placing it in one post each day. Here are today’s announcements:
Mimoco will be showcasing their new Do-It-Yourself Vimobot vinyl toy customized by many top artists in the urban vinyl scene. The custom show can be seen at Mimoco’s booth at #4938.
Marvel has partnered with Japanese animation studio, Madhouse to create four new animation versions of classic Marvel Super Heroes. During the Marvel Animation Panel on Friday, July 24 attendees will get a sneak preview at two of those. The anime series will appear on Animax channel in Japan in spring of 2010.
Nexon will be showcasing Dungeon Fighter Online at their booth #5129. They have prizes to give away and presentations at 1pm every day by Coin-Op tv’s Robert Welkner and Hailey Bright. The two web tv show hosts will be giving fans a first look at the game as well as giving away some cotton.
Activision announced the debut of Bakugan Battle Brawlers at SDCC. Attendees will get to play the game for the first time ever at booth #3712.
“Bakugan is one of the most popular and successful new properties to come along in years,” said David Oxford, Activision Publishing. “There are legions of fans, desperate to see how the video game versions of their favorite characters and creatures are being handled. For a phenomenon this huge, only an event the size of Comic-Con is the right place for Bakugan to make its debut.”
Entertainment Weekly has a series of great panels and a celebration with SYFY. The one I can’t wait for is the Wonder Women: Female Power Icons in Pop Culture. This panel features a discussion with Sigourney Weaver (Avatar), Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost, V), and Zoe Saldana (Avatar, Star Trek) about the actresses who have redefined the rules, and the female characters who have shattered the glass ceiling for all women. The panel is 1:15pm on Thursday, July 23.
They also have the iconic James Cameron and Peter Jackson in a panel about film narrative and technology. Mr. Jackson, be careful, Cameron can take over a presentation! That panel is at 6:30 pm on Friday, July 24.
I’ll be doing a general “what am I covering” video next Tuesday!
