Each performance promises to be a new and unique experience, highlighted by special performances, conventions and appearances from special guests.

The Video Games Live concert series triumphantly celebrates 5 years of touring around the world with over sixty total dates booked for the year of 2009. One  of the upcoming special events include a three day gaming event in Winnipeg with the Winnipeg Symphony July 6th thru the 8th featuring a major Guiter Hero competition among other surprises.

Then on July 10th, VGL will proudly perform with the National Symphony Orchestra at the 6,500+ seat WolfTrap Filene Center. The ESA (Entertainment Software Association) will be present to support Video Games Live and distribute important games industry facts to attendees of the event. Civilization creator Sid Meyer will be a special guest along with Civ IV vocalist Ron Ragin. Legendary video game music composer Grant Kirkhope (Donkey Kong Country, etc.) will also be joining the show.

On July 14th at VGL’s Ft. Worth, TX performance, Halo composer Mike Salvatori will make a special guest appearance at the show.

For their July 18th date, VGL teams up with the Houston Symphony and Blizzard Entertainment  for Gamer MusiCON 09 which promises to include an entire day of gaming activities courtesy of Game Crazy, plus two show performances. The day will include a world premier of never before performed Blizzard music. Blizzard guests will be present for a panel discussion and Q&A session plus meet and greets with the attendees.

Finally, July 23rd during the San Diego Comic Con, Video Games Live will perform with the San Diego Symphony on the waterfront behind the convention center at Embarcadero Marina Park. The show will include a fantastic fireworks display as well as many special guests from around the world.
