I think I was just hoping it would be more like Heavenly Sword, where Nariko was definitely still geared for fanservice, but there was more to the game than just mashing buttons. I don't mind if games have fanservice, as long as the game is fun.
It's interesting that you still had some hope that the game would be good. Any game that has that much fan service with their main character is trying to hard to sell the game to male gamers that respond to that kindof fan service. To me that translates as "our game is bad, so we're using other methods to sell it".
