Surviving Point Lookout (Fallout 3 DLC Impressions)

Yes, I know the last time I wrote about my life in Fallout 3 I said I would no longer be purchasing anymore of the download content for the game. After all the issues with glitches and freezing, I was resolute in not going back. But one of my friends assured me this content wasn’t nearly as bad with problems as the others, so I bought another MS points card and took the plunge. I took Tobar’s ferry from the Capital Wasteland to the once bustling scenic Point Lookout. The boardwalk and shops long abandoned, I did locate some people still making it in the backwater town. Marguerite is looking for your help gathering the items she needs to make another batch of her moonshine. Haley and Panada have two separate shops full of ammo and other goodies to help you stand your ground against the Swamp People, Tribals, Feral

New Resident Evil film because “it makes money”

Many of us may feel Resident Evil films have nothing to do with the actual game’s plot, but people are still watching them. Resident Evil: Afterlife is in production and star Milla Jovovich explains: “The movie makes money. If it makes more money than the last one, you’d think that people want to see another one, so we’ll do another one. There’s been a lot of interest online, there’s been a lot of letters from fans… film company,” she told shocktillyoudrop. “It’s not like I said, ‘Hey, honey! Let’s do another one right away!’ I mean, it’s an expensive film and it’s all business and if the third one didn’t do well, there wouldn’t be another one.” Jovovich also talks about Afterlife’s 3D effects, which is funny because Milla states that she’s never seen a 3D movie: “He’s been really studying it and seeing all the different things they have

Fat Princess team found “specific problem” working on it

Many PS3 owners that bought Fat Princess love the game but have been complaining about the problems connecting to an online game. Titan Studios seems to have found the “specific problem” and insists that they are working on it right now. “Players are sometimes experiencing significant lag in some games. Thanks to your feedback, we’ve identified a specific problem and already have a fix in testing. The matchmaking system will randomly pick potential servers bases on a number of criteria. As implemented, the results that are returned are fit in some regards, but sometimes have a high ping for your location,” said the studio on its blog. “We have implemented a number of fixes for previously identified problems, focusing most of our efforts on connection failures. We have already tested this patch on our own client machines, and performance appears to be dramatically improved. We are working with Sony now

Ubisoft: Christmas is “brutal” for new IP’s

Ubisoft’s Michael De Plater has spoken out to explain why most titles are being moved out of this holiday season and into Q1 2010. Michael De Platter feels that the holiday season is a “brutal” period to send new IPs out to the market. “It’s a bit tough to launch a new IP exactly at Christmas when you’re head-to-head with blockbuster sequels. It’s interesting to see a number of big titles, like Heavy Rain, being targeted at 2010 to avoid the Christmas rush,” said the dev boss. “And Ubisoft’s got Ruse coming out in 2010. Even God of War 3’s in 2010, that’s how brutal it is. I mean, you’ve got Assassin’s Creed 2, Modern Warfare 2, Mass Effect 2… “To me, it’s been a period of enormous change, and the last four years I would say has been the time when games have actually surpassed movies as the premium

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland to be set in an MMO

Being touted as an MMO game for teenage girls, Virtual Fairground is developing Wonderland MMO. The MMO game will be based on the famous story Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. Wonderland MMO was started in 2008 and will launch in mid-2010. Wonder if that’s right around when the movie launches? The world and the game is Flash-based so it runs from the browser. With Wonderland MMO Virtual Fairground aims to create an online hang-out with a darkly romantic and mysterious style. “We really want to create a different kind of online game experience for girls”, says Ilja Goossens of Virtual Fairground. “There are already so much sugary sweet virtual worlds for this demographic or those that are just about shopping and buying things. We believe girls have more varied interests and preferences. Something that is clearly proven by other media such as books, tv-shows and movies.” “As a
