    SDCC Interview with the team from Tron Legacy

    During San Diego Comic Con we were invited to be a part of a roundtable interview with the team working on Tron Legacy. Actors Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, and Jeff Bridges were in attendance as well as Joe Kosinski, Sean Bailey, and Steve Lisberger. Steve Lisberger co-wrote and directed the original Tron. Women are over-worked and under-served by businesses

    We know that women make up 40% of gamers and is the fastest growing market for the video game industry. Women traditionally have control of the spending in the household and now there is a study that shows just how much in spending they control. In a survey of more than 12,000 women in 21 countries the results show that women are over-extended, over-worked, over-stressed, and under-served by businesses. Women are in charge of $12 trillion in global spending today and that will increase by $5 trillion over the next five years. “Companies can earn a privileged position by recognizing this phenomenon and the outsized burden women shoulder — and by responding with power and certainty,” said Kate Sayre, BCG partner and coauthor of “WOMEN WANT MORE.” Mr. Silverstein added, “Companies are failing to meet the needs of women in five key ways: Poor product design and customization for women;

    StarCraft II officially delayed

    During an Activision Blizzard Conference Call, it was confirmed that StarCraft II will have it’s release date moved to “first half of 2010″. While that may seem like a delay, Blizzard never announced a release date, making it the first announcement of a release date for StarCraft II. The later release date for StarCraft II is due largely to the relaunch of Battle.net service. Blizzard feels that Battle.net is an “integral part of the StarCraft II experience and will be an essential part of all of our games moving forward.” Activision CEO Bobby Kotick said during an investor call today that the new iteration of Battle.net will likely be ready “early next year.” Battle.net will feature account management, social networking features and more.
