EA and Double Fine finally talked about the last area of the game that hasn’t been spoken about, multiplayer. Some of the press got a hands-on recently but since we didn’t, I can only tell you some details about multiplayer and not how it plays. Multiplayer will act like a real time strategy. Gamers will build an army to send to battle, but they will also be participating in the battle as well. There are three forces players can select from: Ironheade, The Tainted Coil and The Drowning Doom. Within each unit there are different roles to choose from. Each role has different strengths. There are seven maps that will be playable. Here are some screenshots that show off some of the multiplayer action:

This took longer to happen than I thought. Britney Spears is the first celeb to create celeb merchandise on Facebook. Fans can buy Britney Spears themed virtual gifts to send to other Facebook users. A couple of the gifts are of her singing, others are supportive, or perhaps a political statement with a rainbow-colored balloon labeled, “Britney Pride”. All but one of the gifts are $2 each. EA is partnering with people that know art and style for Need for Speed Nitro on the Wii. Tokidoki, Upper Playground, and i am 8-bit created exclusive in-game car designs and artwork for the title. The tokidoki brand is one that most of us are familiar with. Upper Playground is a cutting edge, San Francisco brand that puts graffiti art on t-shirts, hats and hoddies. i am 8-bit is an artistic collective of over 100 artists that create art based on their favorite video game characters. “tokidoki, Upper Playground and i am 8-bit create art with distinct and cutting edge personalities,” said Gil Rimmer, Art Director, EA Montreal. “With Need for Speed NITRO, we wanted to give players a variety of ways to customize their vehicles, introducing vivid and fresh urban art styles that have

Playlogic has added two new characters to Fairytale Fights which will be launching later this year. Previously we met Little Red Riding Hood and Snow White. Now we’ll meet The Naked Emperor and Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk. The Naked Emperor is dressed in his birthday suit but thankfully doesn’t reveal too much. Jack is a young boy that has beans to swap. “Fairytale Fights is the creative brainchild of our talented development team at Playlogic Game Factory and that’s why we wanted it to be the first next-gen title that Playlogic builds in-house from the ground up,” said Rogier Smit, executive vice president for Playlogic. “The game combines a truly unique storyline and fantasy environment with simple intuitive controls to offer players a whole new level of bloody slice-and-dice gaming.” Here is the latest trailer:

Peter Moore celebrates “cracking the female market”

Personally, I have to admit that I love Peter Moore. He’s passionate and when he goes after something he gets results. Today he talks about how EA Sports has solved “how to appeal to the female market”. Speaking at the Edinburgh Interactive Festival, Peter Moore said, “It was a challenge. How do we go after this audience? How do we talk to women? We had no idea. We were used to appealing to their boyfriends or their brothers. It was scary. We felt we had nothing that would appeal to a female gamer. But now some figures say up to 40 per cent of all gamers are female, so we had to address it using our game engines, the great EA Sports brand – and by re-thinking the way we want to market.” He said: “When I was at Reebok years ago, we took some plastic and made it into
