Stealthyslyth muses on the upcoming Blizzcon 2009 convention

Next week I’ll be on my way to Anaheim to attend Blizzcon 2009, and I know that this is going to be one heck of a convention! Between the announcements that are bound to be made, panels and a concert from the Prince of Darkness, I know I will have a blast. But what should we expect from Blizzard? There have been all kinds of rumblings in the WoW community with regards to Cataclysm, the suspected next expansion as well as the possibly leaked new races players will be able to choose from. There was also the sad announcement that Starcraft II has been pushed back to the first half of 2010. Admittedly, I’m more of a Warcraft player, so I’ve had my ear to the ground mainly for those news items and rumors. The guesses on what the next expansion may be and include are some of the hottest

    Lionhead puts up another tease

Lionhead has added a new teaser on it’s website. Now there is a show of Maximillien Robespierre with the thumbs up and down symbols from yesterday. The quote says, “Terror is only justice: prompt, severe and inflexible; it is then an emanation of virtue; is it a less distinct principle than a natural consequence of the general principle of democracy, applied to the most pressing wants of the country.” You still get taken to “followers” if you hit up and “subjects” if you hit down. Now there is a number 5 so we probably should expect a new one of these every day until GamesCom. Follow

First look at Muramasa: The Demon Blade

This week I sat in on a demo for Muramasa: The Demon Blade. The Ignition Entertainment title is headed exclusively to the Nintendo Wii on September 8. The action game is developed by Vanillaware whose previous work was the much loved and very difficult, Odin Sphere. Muramasa: The Demon Blade takes place during the Genroku era on the main island of Japan. Kisuke has lost his memories and is being chased for a crime. He only knows that he wants to find a certain katana. Momohime is possessed by a foul swordsman, and gets to know him during the journey. Each will explore half the map and meet in the middle. In the game there are 108 different swords to find. The swords all have different abilities and take damage. It’s possible for a sword to break during battle. When that happens, it takes 30 seconds for the sword to

Tune In To Terebi – Konkatsu

Konkatsu is a Japanese term for marriage hunting; a combination of kekkon (marriage) and katsudo (hunting). In Japan, the search for the right marriage partner is not taken lightly. Konkatsu has become a very popular movement in the last couple years (you can even buy a konkatsu bra which has a countdown clock and pocket for an engagement ring). Our story here begins with a man who has never had the best of luck in his lifetime. Kuniyuki’s timing is just horrible, and in particular at this juncture. He just gave his resignation at work because he found a better job with another company. However, the recession hits when he is about to start his new job, and he now finds himself jobless. His father owns and runs a small tonkatsu (deep fried pork cutlet) restaurant, and tries to convince him to work there while he looks for a job.
