Domo Manga Coming September 2009

domothemangaI am a huge Domo-kun fan. I have two plushies of him and a Domo wallet that I love to death. My personal blog is all Domo-ed out, too!

So imagine the look on my face when I saw Tokyopop’s Twitter announcement that original Domo-kun manga was on its way this fall. I had a big fangirl squeal and rushed right over here to tell you all to buy it.

This first, full coloured volume will feature Domo-kun doing what he does best: terrorizing his friends, turning himself into a car, and letting TV influence him a little too much.

If you check out the Domo the Manga page on Tokyopop you can take a look at the first chapter.

The book is scheduled to hit stores on Sept 1st and will retail for $9.99 US/ $12.99 CDN.

Domo started out as a mascot for NHK (TV network). He is a mysterious creature that hatched from an egg. He was featured in several short clips, usually in between programs. They had other little friends join him. Sort of like a male version of Hello Kitty in a way, I suppose, if you want to compare.
