New StarCraft II details and movie
Tons of new StarCraft II details are out on the web right now from a journalist event that occurred last month. We missed out on the invite, but here’s where you can find out all the information.
VG247 has a ton of new info and here are the highlights and an in-game movie. Make sure to head over there to see all the great screenshots.
Rob Pardo tells VG247 about how he wants to appeal to a wider base of gamers,
” Well, I think it depends on your definition of “casual player”. I feel that “casual player” in general is a term we throw around to explain everyone from ourselves, as the every-gamer, down to the people that play PopCap games, down to the people that play Bejeweled on [the internet], so it really depends on your definition. Are we trying to get the moms to play? No. That’s not really the market for StarCraft. But we certainly feel like we should be able to capture the gamer audience, even the people that are more on the casual gaming side, that maybe only buy two or three boxed products per year, all the way to the side of the player that plays five RTSes per year. We definitely want to get the entirety of that market.”
Blizzard will also be releasing trial versions of StarCraft II.
“We’ve got lots of different SKUs planned,” said lead game designer Dustin Browder, speaking at Blizzard’s HQ to VG247.
“I don’t even know what they all are right now, but there are trial versions planned, and all kinds of stuff.”
There also won’t be a co-op campaign for those of you that enjoy co-op. The single player will be “enormous” though so it’s not like you’ll be missing out much.
Here is the single player movie :
IncGamers has the following single player gameplay video.
