The Guild panel at Blizzcon

One of the many panels that I was excited to see while at Blizzcon was The Guild. More recently known for the “Do You Want To Date My Avatar” song and video, The Guild is a story based on an online video game guild The Knights of Good. Written by Felicia Day the show centers around the in game and out of game lives of Codex (Felicia Day), Zaboo (Sandeep Parikh), Bladezz (Vincent Caso), Clara (Robin Thorsen), Vork (Jeff Lewis), and Tinkerballa (Amy Okuda). Now on their third season, The Guild has been increasing their fanbase steadily and shows great promise of continuing their rise in popularity.
At their Blizzcon panel, they debued the first episode of season three that has some newcomers to the guild, including Wil Wheaton as a rival guild master who will be arching The Knights of Good. Season three looks just as promising and amusing as seasons one and two, and I’m really looking forward to the release on Xbox Live. The cast of The Guild also did a great Q&A with fans where they answered questions regarding the show and about them personally, like what other hidden talents the cast may have after we’ve found out Felicia can sing and Amy can dance. Incidentally Jeff can read Hebrew, so he’s looking forward to having that integraded into the next video they do. One of the more fun questions was about favorite behind the scenes events that happened on set that were funny. Vincent, as we found out, has a rough time keeping a straight face when Jeff is as he put it “being funny.” Amy expanded on this by talking about a scene where she was facing Vincent, with Jeff behind him, and even though Vincent couldn’t see what Jeff was doing he was still laughing.
At the end of the panel, they played “Do You Want To Date My Avatar” for the crowd, and I wound up walking away from the panel with the song stuck in my head. They have a nice booth here at Blizzcon that even has a mini museum exhibit, so if you’ve ever wanted to see Vork’s tater tot frier, this is your chance!
