iPhone 3G and 3Gs both getting MMS support, finally

Many non-iPhone users have come up to me stating that at least their phone gets MMS support. Something most cell phones do. Except the iPhone. It wasn’t a big deal to me personally, but many iPhone users found it annoying. Now they can celebrate because on September 25 MMS support is coming to the iPhone 3G and 3Gs. AT&T has confirmed on their facebook page the following: ” An Update on iPhone MMS for our Mobility Customers We know many of our iPhone customers are eager for an update on our rollout schedule for Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS). We’ve been working for the past several months to prepare our systems and network to ensure the best possible experience with MMS when it launches – and that launch date is: September 25 for iPhone 3G and 3GS customers. MMS will be enabled through a software update on that day. We know

Sony announces open casting call for “The Tester”

There’s a reality show for everything, or so I thought. Sony Computer Entertainment America announced a casting call for their new competitive reality series, “The Tester”. The series will be shown exclusively on Playstation Network for the PS3. The show will follow a group of gamers as they face off to win a job as an official Playstation game tester. To enter, gamers have to submit an online form and a short video at http://www.us.playstation.com/psn/thetester explaining why they have to be part of the Playstation family. The show will run 8 episodes and the winner will get a contract position in the Quality Assurance department in San Diego, CA. While this may seem weird to some of us, many gamers really do want to be game testers. It’s pretty smart of Sony to leverage that into a show that is exclusive to their network when they probably needed to hire

    Sony has a new slogan

Sony recently changed the PS3 logo font and now Sony is continuing the makeover with a brand new slogan for consumers – “make.believe”. “As we move to transform Sony and integrate the very best in electronics, entertainment and technology into the homes of our customers, the importance of an all-encompassing and unified brand image is more important than ever,” Sony CEO Sir Howard Stringer stated, according to Destructoid. “In addition to reigniting the innovative spirit of our employees and our products, make.believe will differentiate us from countless competitors and inspire consumers around the world to embrace all that is Sony.” I wonder if it’s a new marketing team, but either way, it’s nice to see Sony taking some new marketing initiatives and taking control of their brand.
