    Pinnacle College launches degree in Video Game Audio

    Pinnacle College has announced that it is now offering an accredited Occupational Associate Degree in video game audio. It’s the first degree of it’s kind in the nation. The college is celebrating the launch offering a reduction in tuition fees for the first class. The program starts with an open house on Saturday, September 26 at the LA campus and classes start on October 12. “Pinnacle College’s recording engineer graduates have gone on to work with the world’s hottest musical acts and studios. We applied the same rigor and focus to our new game audio program,” said Sal Younis, president, Pinnacle College. “We are committed to offering students the most relevant, engaging, and comprehensive education that will prepare them for successful careers in the high demand, interactive entertainment industry.” The GAIM program is designed to be a 16 month program where students learn all aspects of creating and managing sound

    DC Comics to focus more on games

    Warner Bros. yesterday announced the brand new DC Entertainment, a division created to realise “the power” of the DC Comics brand. The new company will be prioritizing DC Characters for key growth which includes feature films, tv shows, video games and other consumer products. DC Entertainment will be run by Diane Nelson, who has been managing the firm’s Harry Potter property since 2000. “The founding of DC Entertainment fully recognizes our desire to provide both the DC properties and fans the type of content that is only possible through a concerted cross-company, multi-platform effort,” said Nelson. “DC Entertainment will help us to formally take the great working relationships between DC Comics and various Warner Bros. businesses to the next level in order to maximize every opportunity to bring DC’s unrivalled collection of titles and characters to life. “After so many roles at DC, it’s exciting to look forward to focusing

    Courtney Love attacks Activision

    Media recently pointed out how weird it is to see Kurt Cobain singing in Guitar Hero 5 or even rapping. For Guitar Hero 5, Activision made Kurt Cobain an unlockable, playable character. It shouldn’t surprise anyone that Courtney Love is threatening legal action now. Posted on her twitter account she raged about Activision’s decision stating it was a, “outrageous violation and breach of contact”. She said: “I cannot allow this to stand… For the record, this Guitar Hero shit is breach of contract on a Bullys part and there will be a proper addressing of this and retraction. “WE are going to sue the sh*t out of Activision we being the Trust the Estate the LLC the various LLCs Cobain Enterprises. “Activision being motherf**king sorted it will be addressed hardcore. I have nothing to do with Guitar Hero I loathe it and find it odious Kurt would have too.”

    Today is Ozzy Osbourne Day in West Hollywood, CA

    The City of West Hollywood in California will be rocking tomorrow as they have declared it Ozzy Osbourne Day. On September 10, 2009 a tribute to Ozzy Osbourne will kick off at the House of Blues on Sunset and Osbourne himself, will perform Saturday, September 12, 2009 closing the Sunset Strip Music Festival.
