MySims Camera application for the DSi

I think this might be the cutest application for the DSi using the camera functionality yet! The adorable MySims characters will become a part of your photos with the use of MySims Camera. First take a photo with the DSi camera and then it’s up to the limits of your creativity for what you can do to it. You can animate, move, scale, rotate, and crop your MySims characters into the photo anyway you want. Use the stylus to draw on the photo and add personal touches. The MySims Camera application is now available in the Nintendo DSi store and comes with 8 MySims Characters plus four characters you have to unlock. There are 30 animations, twelve different stamp tools, and the ability to exchange photos with other DSi users. During the MySims blogger day (which will go up this week), they experimented with us to show how the application

Our friends at Siliconera have found a video that is Spike TV’s preview of Halo Legends. The preview is pretty good. I typically don’t like voice-over but it’s done really well. Looking forward to seeing more from Halo Legends soon! Follow

    Blur gets pushed into 2010

Activision has confirmed that Blur, the company’s racing game, will now be moved in 2010. The reason is to give the development team more time to enhance the online multiplayer gameplay. “We are committed to making Blur a great new racing franchise, and we are very encouraged by the game’s design,” stated Mike Griffith, President and CEO, Activision Publishing. “The additional time will allow the studio to fully optimize the vision they set out to create for Blur including a distinctive and groundbreaking multiplayer mode that will appeal to a broad audience.” The title was set for a 11/3/2009 release according to GameStop. No future date was indicated. Follow

Square Enix boss says new Wii is just two years away

Square Enix boss Yoichi Wada is already putting the prediction out there that Nintendo will release a new Wii Console in 2011. In an interview with The Financial Times, Wada stated that the Wii 2 will incorporate features seen in the Xbox 360 and PS3, particularly HD output. He also predicts that there will be a new controller as well. Wada also believes that Xbox 360 and PS3 motion technology probably won’t provide a large boost in sales for either machine. “Present game machines already have a lot of functions,” he explained. “They are a network terminal, a Blu-ray or DVD player, and a gaming machine. Compared to these three pillars, the new motion controllers are quite limited, so the impact may be small.” Follow

Need for Speed: Shift takes top UK Game Sales

Need for Speed: Shift raced to the top of the UK Charts Last week sending everyone else down one spot. Guitar Hero 5 went to 2, Colin McRaeL Dirt 2 goes to 3 and Batman: Arkham Asylum goes to 4. WET enters the countdown at 6 and what I find curious is that The Beatles: Rock Band can’t really find any traction in the UK and slips from 4 to 7. Call of Duty: World at War continues to fall down the charts from 14 last week to 18. Barely staying in the countdown. The leading publisher is EA Games with four titles. Activision, Nintendo, and Eidos tie with three titles in the countdown. Follow

    Anime Weekend Atlanta 2009

This past weekend I was lucky enough to visit Anime Weekend Atlanta for a day and check out one of the largest anime conventions in the US. The convention took place from Sept 18 to 20th at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel and Cobb Galleria. We got there bright an early on Saturday morning. The weather was not very pleasant, so it was great that the hotel and galleria were connected to one another. No one wants to be walking around in cosplay outside in the rain. Doubly so if you are dressed as a Companion Cube! The first thing we did was check out the Dealers Room. As every good con-goer knows, the most popular items will go first and fast, so you want to make sure you don’t miss out on the rare find. There were a lot of great retailers there; FUNimation and Media Blasters had booths on

I can’t even tell you how excited I am about this.  It’s been a while since I watched the original movies, but when I see them on TV I’ll watch them, and I’ve been following the Freddy Vs. Jason Vs. Ash comic from Wildstorm.  If you’re like me and a fan of the early 80′s killing crew with Freddy, Jason and Michael you might want to keep an eye out for this Legacy retrospective in the Spring. From the Press Release: Members of the creative team behind His Name Was Jason: 30 Years of Friday the 13th have joined forces once again to bring horror fans the ultimate tribute to yet another landmark slasher series, A Nightmare on Elm Street.
