360 system update today to prep for Twitter and Facebook

Major Nelson has confirmed that the Xbox 360’s firmware will be upgraded today to prep for the addition of Facebook, Twitter and Last.fm functionality.
“Sometime over the next few hours when you sign in to Xbox LIVE you’ll receive a prompt to accept this mandatory update,” said the exec.
“If you are signed into LIVE already, you may be signed out and asked to accept the update and you’ll be back online in a few moments.”
There were some touch and go moments but everything seems to be smoothed over.
