Eion Colfer Talks About And Another Thing

By: Yukino

andanotherthingcover420I am a huge huge HUGE Douglas Adams fan. I have the Trilogy in 5 Parts, lovingly worn and earmarked with certain pages that made me laugh the most. I have seen the BBC show, I have listened to the audio tapes, and I have the movie.

So when I walked into a Barnes & Noble a couple weeks back and saw an advertisement for And Another Thing, many questions came pouring into my brain. The first one was why, followed by who. I didn’t think anyone should bring back the series. Who was this Eion Colfer fellow and what exactly did he think he was doing to one of my favourite series of all time?

Well, I was not alone in that thinking. There are thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of H2G2 (Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy) fanatics out there. And we all wanted to know more about how Book 6 in the Trilogy came to be.

Thanks to the wonders of YouTube, people like Penguin Group, publishers of And Another Thing, and several other like-minded individuals have asked Mr. Colfer to clarify some things. Last thing they need is for us to steal their towels.

After watching the video, I feel a bit more at ease about someone bringing the story back. I do miss Arthur and Trillian, Random, Ford & Zaphod. And I really miss poor Marvin.

Any other skeptics out there? Please watch the video and share your thoughts with me. And Another Thing will be in stores on Oct 12, 2009.
