It was a big day in news from FUNimation at the New York Anime Fest on Friday! Below are the three top stories that I saw from today.
Cast of “Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood” announced
“Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood” continues the Fullmetal Alchemist series, and the English dubs are set to be released in Spring 2010. At NYAF the new members of the cast who will be joining as the English voices for the series. Below is the full listing of the cast from the press release:

“X” acquired by FUNimation
The post apocalyptic anime series from D-Rights has been acquired for 24 episodes by FUNimation. The show is based off of the CLAMP manga series, will be directed by Yoshiaki Kawajiri and animated by Madhouse.
It’s 1999 and the end of the world is fast approaching. Fifteen year old Kamui Shiro, a powerful psychic, has returned to Tokyo after a 6 year absence to protect his childhood friends, Fuuma and Kotori. As all prepare for Armageddon, it is Kamui’s destiny to decide the fate of the world and mankind, whether he wants the role or not.
“Initial D” First through Fourth stages acquired by FUNimation
FUNimation also announced today that they have acquired the home entertainment, broadcast, digital, and merchandise rights to “Initial D First Stage,” Initial D Second Stage, “Initial D Extra Stage”, “Initial D Third Stage” and “Initial D Fourth Stage” from Kodansha. They will release the series with a new English dub cast, and the show will remain uncut with the original music.

The news about X is awesome. Ditto for the pick up on Initial D. I was wondering what was going on with it since I hadn't seen any news on Tokyopop renewing the license they had on it (the anime).
