Sony Tokyo Game Show Keynote highlights
Tweet
“Sony’s New Strategy for 2009″ is how the press conference opened today for Sony as they took the stage at Tokyo Game Show. Kaz Hirai took the stage to discuss how 15 years of Playstation has involved taking gaming to a place where “game consoles and networking are inseparable”.
To start the conference Kaz Hirai shows a trailer of upcoming titles, and then talks about the sales of the PS3 Slim which sold one million in the first week. He also brings up the motion control and displays how accurate the controller is and that it has “light vibration feedback”.
The PSP and PSPGo are next with a trailer of the various games. Hopefully we’ll get an embed of that trailer to put here later. The PSP trailer featured Gran Turismo, Hot Shots Golf, Yuusha, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, Last Ranker, Sangoku Musou 5 special, Gundam vs. Gundam next, Phantasy Star Portable 2, Peace Walker, Loco Roco midnight carnival and an endochrome-like title.
Kaz continues to talk about emotional experiences in gaming and 3D gaming. Which he believes are the next steps for gaming.
According to the Kotaku live blog we’re watching, it basically ends at that point. No big announcements, no new news. There is a case at the Sony booth that is covered which will probably be unveiled later in the conference. But looks like Sony has another odd press conference leaving the audience wanting some sort of announcement, but not really approaching the subject.
I’ll add any video to this post, but as of now the trailers are not available.
