Square Enix held a party and confirmed the rumors that Final Fantasy XIII will be released in Japan on December 17,2009. 1UP.com was there and has a live blog on their site. Here are some of the important highlights.

Kaz Hirai, Sony Computer Entertainment Chairman and Group CEO, showed up to discuss that there will be a new FFXIII specific bundle for the Playstation 3 coming soon.

Square-Enix also announced a partnership with Suntory to create a new cocktail. Previously the company made a Potion Drink for Final Fantasy XII. The new cocktail is called Final Fantasy XIII Elixir and will be in limited edition can designs released in Japan.

The last announcement was that pop singer Sayuri Sugawara will be the voice for the FFXIII theme song, Kimiga Irukara . The song will be released on December 2.
