New trailer for Aussie VG show “GameDamage”!

I don’t know how many of you would remember, but before GamingAngels had it’s super mega awesome revamp I had posted in the forums about a show made by some Aussies. It was centered around video games and it featured the infamous Ben “Yahtzee” Croshaw (Zero Punctuation). The show contained reviews and segments from Yahtzee and his fellow hosts Yug and Matt (AustralianGamer.com), and was a great attempt in my opinion. They even had 25, 000 hits for the pilot just 5 days after it was released on YouTube! Well, now they’re back and better than before with a new trailer! Feedback and better production have seen Yug, Matt and Yahtzee come up with what to me seems like a force to be reckoned with. It is currently in Cannes being showcased at the MIPCOM conference where they are hoping to strike a deal for the show to be distributed

    KontrolFreek Lands New Spokespeople

KontrolFreek announced today that they have landed three new spokespeople for their gaming accessories. Kelly Kelley, Jamal Nickens and Mark “applesauce” Smith (World Cyber Games players) have all signed contracts to promote the SpeedFreeks and FPSFreeks controller attachments, as well as future products from the Atlanta-based company. KontrolFreek products are available for $9.99 a set on their website, their new Amazon store, and other fine retailers. As someone who has been using their products for the past two years, I would like to personally add that my SpeedFreek never comes off my Xbox 360 controller other than to clean it. I highly recommend that anyone who is looking for that added control with gaming seriously considers purchasing these add-ons. Follow

Venezuela attempts to outlaw violent video games and toys

Venezuela is starting a movement to ban violent video games and toys. The final vote should be coming in the next few weeks according to the AP article. Residents believe that kids that play violent games in Internet cafes are taking kids to “trade joysticks for guns”. But in an area with rampant violent crime, is this something that can make any impact? Critics believe the bill is just a PR stunt of President Hugo Chavez because the government is completely unable to have an impact on real crime. So why not make a statement and go after the fake violence right? Even a student knows that doesn’t make sense. “Video games aren’t the problem, criminals are the problem. Why don’t they go after them?” asked Arny Gonzalez, a 17-year-old high school student. While talking about the legislation, they showed scenes from Grand Theft Auto, showing a man pulling people
