Monster debuts on SyFy’s Ani-Monday block tonight

I had no idea that SyFy has an anime Monday block. Starting tonight on the SyFy Ani-Monday block is the premier of Naoki Urasawa’s Monster. The title is definitely one for Halloween month! It’s a psychological suspense thriller that will air each Monday night and then be re-broadcast on channel Chiller the week after. Here is some information on Monster: What would you do if a child you saved grew up to be a monster? An ice-cold killer is on the loose, and Dr. Kenzo Tenma is the only one who can stop him! Tenma, a brilliant neurosurgeon with a promising future, risks his career to save the life of a critically wounded young boy named Johan. Kamiya calls Tomonobu Itagaki an “idiot”

I couldn’t resist posting about Destructoid’s interview with Platinum Games’ Hideki Kamiya speaking out against Team Ninja head Tomonobu Itagaki. He thinks that Itagaki is an idiot who has unrealistic ideas about breasts. “I am bald, but I am not gay,” confirms Kamiya. He then went on to talk smack about boob-obsessed Itagaki, explaining that “It’s a huge mistake to think like an idiot that big breasts on women seem erotic.” These two have been public with their thoughts about each other before and have been fighting for a few months now. While it does seem like a childish spat, I do have to admit it’s pretty entertaining. For your Bayonetta fix today GT has a trailer that shows the demo comparison of the PS3 and 360 version: Video Games | Bayonetta | PS3/360 Demo Comparison XBox 360 | Playstation 3 | Nintendo Wii

Guest First Look – Need for Speed: Nitro

EA Black Box hosted a Need for Speed: Nitro preview event recently and I was given an opportunity to test out the game. Curious about the Wii title, I was happy to get a test drive. Never having owned a Wii and little interested in the racing genre, I had no idea what to expect. I saw other people giving the game a go, latching on to the Wii Wheel, enthusiastically steering left and right. Naturally, I wanted to give the Wii Wheel a try! Waiting in line, I passed the time talking to people around me. One of those people happened to be Assistant Producer Anouk Bachman! Incredibly generous with her time, she explained the development process for Nitro and what the team hoped to achieve with the game. During our impromptu interview, she led me over to the Wii Wheels and gave me a general walkthrough of the features

Avatar items coming for Modern Warfare 2

Your Xbox 360 avatar will be able to get into the Modern Warfare 2 mood with items provided by Infinity Ward. Rob Bowling recently twittered that the avatar items most likely won’t be in the form of Avatar Rewards but will be in the Avatar marketplace. Bowling hopes that it will be free. “Not sure we’ll be doing any Avatar rewards, but we are making avatar items. With some free ones hopefully.” Modern Warfare 2 is out on November 10 for the PS3 and 360. A British paper, the Daily Star, is a bit late to the game, calling out Infinity Ward for providing tools for “peeping toms” and making gaming fans a “army of ogling pervs”. Their reason for making these claims are two comments left on game sites about the Prestige Pack’s night vision goggles.

FIFA 10 holds strong in the UK Game Sales charts

FIFA 10 scored another goal as it remained a UK favorite and sold enough to hold onto the top spot in the sales charts for last week. There was some competition with games brand new to the countdown like Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising (2), Scribblenauts (12), Star Wars: Clone Wars Republic Heroes (15), Wii Play (19), and Mario Strikers Charged Football (20). The UK charts should be very interesting in the next few weeks as the onslaught of new games starts. The biggest drop was MySims Agents from 7 to 13. Gran Turismo gets an opposite boost from 12 to 7. The most popular publisher is overwhelmingly Nintendo with 7 games in the top 20. It’s been a long time since one publisher has dominated that much. Out of the top 20 (for publisher) is Activision.
