Yahtzee Croshaw brings Mogworld to Dark Horse

Ben “Yahtzee” Croshaw is making another move and it’s outside of the video game industry. His debut Novel, Mogworld will be published by Dark Horse Books. Mogworld is a comedic (do you expect anything else?) fantasy novel covering the story of Jim that after dying is brought back to life by a renegade necromancer. Jim wants to die properly but he’s a minor character in a MMORPG. “I love Zero Punctuation, and I had asked Yahtzee to pitch us a book about video games,” explains Mogworld editor Rachel Edidin. “The last thing I expected was a novel draft! And the next thing I knew, I was taking the manuscript home with me—less to finish it than because I had to see what happened next.” Says Croshaw, “I’ve been trying to write novels ever since I first read Hitchhiker’s Guide at the age of eight, so this is a pretty big

    Review: Ninja Blade

ESRB: M for Mature Genre: Action Number of Players: One Developer: FromSoftware Inc. Release Date: Out now, Released April 7, 2009 PASS/RENT When I first loaded this game up, I half expected yet another ninja-themed hack-and-slash game with maybe the occasional hint of plot. I was both surprised and disappointed with what I found as I played. The game brought together the classic ninja moves, like running on walls and epic leaps and combo attacks, and real-time sequences a la God of War. The big issue with the real-time sequences is their number. Almost every 10 minutes or so of gameplay, you’re guaranteed to get at least one sequence if not more during boss fights. Some of the big finishing moves require you to press a certain button as it pops up. If you mess up during the cutscenes, you have to restart the whole thing. This process can get

Atlus has decided that they can’t print enough game copies for the demand, so they are releasing a number of titles from their PSP catalog on Playstation Network for download. The titles are : Crimson Gem Saga™, Hammerin’ Hero™, Yggdra Union™, Steambot Chronicles Battle Tournament™, R-Type Command™, and Riviera: The Promised Land™. “We’ve finally reached a point where, according to our physicians, any further laughing at our masterfully executed plan of never making enough copies of our games for everyone poses risks to our health,” admitted Aram Jabbari, Manager of PR and Sales at Atlus. “In order to prevent illness, and because, hey, sometimes you just want to change things up, we’re very pleased to offer PSP system classics via digital download.
