Dracula: The Path of the Dragon Coming Soon to Apps Store
Chillingo recently announced Dracula:The Path of the Dragon for the iPhone/ iPod Touch will be released this fall. In Dracula: The Path of the Dragon, you play as Father Arno Moriani who is sent from Rome to investigate a candidate for sainthood in Transylvania. It’s 1920 when you begin to investigate Dr. Martha Calugarul in Vladoviste a village half destroyed in World War I. Vladoviste is also home to Vlad the Impaler’s Castle of Twilight. Father Arno begins to track a mysterious figure he believes is responsible for evil in the area and soon finds himself caught up in the path of the dragon. As you solve puzzles based on medicine, history, and the occult, you’ll uncover the mystery of the dragon and of the vampires. This point and click adventure game is expected to be released later this fall.

Magic: the Gathering and Yu-Gi-Oh! updates
This week marks a couple of exciting releases in the world of trading card games. Both Magic: the Gathering and Yu-Gi-Oh! are getting updates in the form of new decks. Magic: the Gathering gets the much-anticipated Garruk vs Liliana duel deck. The new art on the planeswalkers is beautiful, especially Liliana’s updated yet just as dark art and pose. Garruk looks just as fierce in always. Both decks feature some of the best black and green cards in the game, all of which are reprints and still just as useful. Both are complete 60-card decks that are ready to play right out of the box, perfect for two players looking to start off or enhance their game. The MSRP is $20. Full deck lists can be found here. Nintendo hosts Band Hero event with Rivers Cuomo of Weezer
Nintendo is hosting a huge “First to Play” event at the Nintendo World Store in Rockefeller Plaza on November 1, 2009. The event will be to celebrate Band Hero which will be in stores November 3. The first 50 in line will get a copy of the game. Free games are always awesome, but gamers will get an additional surprise. Weezer lead singer Rivers Cuomo will be there signing starting at 3pm and the event ends at 4pm. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 limited edition details announced
DICE and EA have announced details for the Limited Edition release of Battlefield: Bad Company 2. The fps comes out in 2010 but it’s never too early to start saving up money for the various collectible editions that will be coming next year. The interesting thing is that while supplies last, the Limited Edition version will be sold for the same price as the standard version of the game. The game goes on sale starting in North America on March 2, 2010 and in Europe on March 5, 2010. The limited edition comes with six special customizations early which gives players a day advantage multiplayer matches. That’s right, 24 hours of multiplayer advantage. IGC West sets schedule and keynote
The Independent Games Conference West is next week in Marina Del Rey and will be all about advice for indie studios. Chris Swain, Director of USC Games Institute, will be talking about why it’s a great time to be in game development on Friday, November 6. Epic Mickey details from Junction Point
Disney Interactive has released official information about the upcoming Warren Spector and Junction Point studio game, Epic Mickey. The title is coming to the Wii and provides a new twist on Disney games. “Mickey is an adventurous and rambunctious mouse,” said Warren Spector, creative director and vice president, Junction Point. “I want to bring his personality to the forefront, place him in a daunting world and connect his spirited character with video game players worldwide. Ultimately, each player decides for him- or herself what makes Mickey cool.” Below we have some screenshots put to a video thanks to GameTrailers. Popotan & Little Snow Fairy Sugar DVD Collections Now Available
Section 23 and Sentai Films are proud to announce two new anime series are now available in DVD collections. Popotan is the story of three sisters who travel across time and space, bringing their house, robo-maid and pet ferret everywhere they go. The sisters are searching for the one person who can answer their most personal question. More often than not they end up making side trips, visiting hot springs, making new friends and getting caught up in other adventures. Popotan is rated MA for mature content. All 12 episodes are available in the collection and is on sale now through RightStuf. The second release from Sentai Films this week is Little Snow Fairy Sugar Collection 1. The first collection is episodes 1-13 and rated PG. Little Snow Fairy Sugar stars apprentice fairy Sugar, sent to Earth with her friends Salt and Pepper to discover “twinkles” and become full-fledged fairies.
