Left 4 Dead 2 boycott is officially over
The controversy that showed the ire of Valve fanboys is now officially over. The boycott was originally called for Left 4 Dead 2 due to fanboy complaints that Valve was not supporting Left 4 Dead with DLC.
“Effective Wednesday October 21st 2009 at 12:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, this group will be closed,” said revolution architect Walking_Target.
“People have lost sight of why we’re here. The comments are always full of trolls, people bashing Valve and phishers. What is more, people are unwilling or unable to wait for Valve to follow through in any cohesive way.”
Fellow man of the people Agent of Chaos added:
“We have accomplished everything we can on our manifesto. We’ve been dealing with Valve ever since our group started, then we met them in-person and now we’re at the point of concluding our discussions. Our goal wasn’t to steer people away from L4D2, it was to get Valve’s attention and have them support original L4D. We succeeded and that’s where our mission ends; nothing more or less.”
The group caused much controversy, starting debate on the wrath of fanboyism and if attacking Valve was the right thing to do since Valve has a strong commitment to their fans.

Thank god. Its about time it ended. Considering that most people, at least whom I’ve spoken with, have already said they were happy about Crash Course but had also gotten their money’s worth out of L4D. In spite of the controversy its caused amongst the community, I can at least say that the one positive note behind it is that with enough support you truly can accomplish what you set out to do. Thanks for covering this, GA!
donno bout you all at GA but i LOVE L4D and i already have L4D2 pre ordered. I’m so glad this has ended and i dont have to beat anyone with a frying pan about this. HAHA

Having played sections of Left 4 Dead 2 at various press events, I can safely say that I’ll be picking this up too. But I might get it on 360 instead of Steam so I can play with all of you!
You should! The PC version definately has its quirks with the add-ons and mods though I certainly say the 360 has a more wide range of players. Plus, we all have a great time!
Like Amber, I surely got my Pre-order all set and ready to go.
