BlizzCon may be in Vegas next year!

BlizzCon has outgrown Anaheim Convention Center. Every year many more people attempt to get tickets to BlizzCon but end up not getting in. It looks like Blizzard may be looking to correct that with next year’s BlizzCon. WoW.com found on the Vegas Convention website that Blizzard has reserved for BlizzCon 2010 in Las Vegas July 30th and 31st. Viva Las Vegas! The new space can hold 30,000 instead of Anaheim’s 20,000. Blizzard has yet to announce the venue, but I would bet on it being in Vegas next year! You know GamingAngels will be there to get all the coverage! UPDATE: Blizzard has added this official response which isn’t so surprising: “We haven’t announced any details regarding our next BlizzCon, so please refrain from making any travel plans at this time.” UPDATE #2: Update 12:30 p.m. PST, 11-13-09: The LVCC has retracted their statement. LVCC is saying that it was

Some video games have had interesting links to history. For example, many shooter games have been based off of WWII, God of War draws heavily from Greek mythology, and Assassin’s Creed 2 will have you interacting with Leonardo Da Vinci. Some academics are saying that games like this can provide a gateway for young adults to be inspired to research more into these areas. So today the American Library Association announced that November 14th will be “National Gaming Day” in all libraries. They will offer people the chance to go to the library and play a game and learn more about the real stories that inspired them. There hasn’t been any study in the area of video games based off of history, but according to the Reuter’s article: “Michael Pachter, videogame analyst for Wedbush Morgan Securities, estimates games incorporating history into their stories have made up about 10 percent of

Plot for the Monopoly movie revealed

Not too long ago (at least it seems as such) it was announced that a Monopoly movie was going to be made by director Ridley Scott. And yesterday an article from the LA Times surfaced with an interview with Frank Beddor who will be writing the movie. Some may recognize Beddor’s name if they’ve read The Looking Glass Wars series, which is a re-imagining of the Alice in Wonderland story. In the LA Times article, Beddor talks about the plot of the movie, and well… I’ll let you read what he has to say: “I created a comedic, lovable loser who lives in Manhattan and works at a real estate company and he’s not very good at his job but he’s great at playing Monopoly. And the world record for playing is 70 straight days – over 1,600 hours – and he wanted to try to convince his friends to
