The Nook: The World’s Most Advanced E-Reader

features_spaceThe Nook is Barnes and Nobles’ answer to the Amazon’s Kindle. The Nook which will be released on November 6th, is coined to be the “The world’s most advanced E-reader.” You figure that this would be a very hefty claim to make.  Well this e-reader appears to be able to do a lot. Not only are you able to take a small library where ever you go, you are also able to download new books though the Nook’s 3G and Wi-fi connectivity. The great thing with the Nook is the fact that you can share your books with other people for fourteen days if they have another Nook or have downloaded the software into their computer, IPhone, or Blackberry. Also, if you have left your Nook home and you wish to continue reading, if you have downloaded your own software onto you Blackberry, or Iphone, you can pick up where you left off.  The Nook has 2GB of space and a micro SD card slot to add more memory if you desire to. Other features of the Nook is the fact that it is not backlit, unlike most computer monitors, which causes less strain on a person’s vision while reading, the fact you can bookmark you place, mark up the pages, the choice of five different font sizes, you can try a book before you buy it, it functions as an MP3 player where you can listen to audio books, and other forms of music while reading and there are thousands of free books avaiable.

The Nook comes with

  • nook
  • Micro-USB 2.0 cable
  • Quick Start Guide
  • AC adapter
  • Rechargeable battery (installed)

The Nook itself is priced at $259 and will be avaiable mid-late November and currently is only avaiable within the US.
