Turning Japanese Holiday Guide

Christmas for the Japanese is a little different than it is for the rest of us. While only a small percentage of the population are Christian, the majority of people still dress their houses and shops for the most wonderful time of the year. They even have their own version of Santa Claus whose name is Hotei-osho – a Buddhist monk who visits their houses and leaves presents for the kids. And even though most Japanese people treat the holiday as a matsuri (or festival), the most devout Christian Japanese spend the day itself helping others (for example, sick people in hospital) and doing something nice. So no family time or stuffing themselves with turkey and pudding!
Having said all that, if you’re looking to get your loved ones some Anime, Manga or other goodies with Japanese influence this year, then consider buying some of these fine items that your friendly (and smart) GamingAngels have found for you – just in case you needed a little help!

For the last few years my Mother actually began using Pocky as a stocking stuffer. Ever since I introduced it to her, she has been placing it right next to the Terry’s Chocolate Orange and the Tolbrone Bar.
Pocky is great because there are sooooooooo many awesome flavours. You can even find Maple flavour. Mmmmmm!
