Ubisoft launches UPlay services with Assassin’s Creed II

Assassin’s Creed II launched last night at midnight and Ubisoft has announced that players on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 will be able to use the interface in-game to connect to the UPlay beta.

What is UPlay? UPlay is Ubisoft’s online network that has four primary services: Uplay Win, Uplay Help, UPlay Share, and UPlay Shop. Only UPlay Win will be in the beta.

UPlay Win lets players collect units based on their action in the game and exchange for exclusive in-game content or goodies.

In Assassin’s Creed II, a real Altaïr costume and exclusive in-game content such as access to the Auditore Family Crypt are some of the initial awards. But gamers could keep their points for when Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction comes out.

Gamers can visit UPlay.com here.
