Marjorie Liu author of 10 romance novels (The Dirk & Steele series) as well as co-writer of the Dark Wolverine comic is getting one of her romance novels turned into a Video Game. PassionFruit is working on Tiger Eye: Curse of the Riddle Box to be released sometime in April of 2010. It’s being described as a romance game, with puzzles and mini-games with a storyline that continues to grow as you play through the game. It’ll be available for PC and Mac and will be targeted at the 25-65 women demographic. Liu while perhaps being known in both the comics and romance world, has also in the past few years joined the urban fantasy setting with her Hunter’s Kiss series. So many authors are being tapped recently for video game ideas – with developers borrowing heavily from the original stories as they develop plot for the new games.  I

EA is letting Sims 3 players get even more creative. Now they can download the beta of the Sims 3 Create a World Tool which allows players to create and share new worlds they design. Players will have to be registered to download the tools. The tools are the same tools that the Sims 3 developers use to create worlds and towns for the Sims 3. Now you get to do all the work. Borderlands & Fallout 3 – Why You Should Buy Both

If you pay any attention to the world of gaming at all, you’ve probably heard the comparisons between the recently released Borderlands, and 2008′s Fallout 3. While there are several delicious similarities between the two, I am going to take a moment to tell you why buying both is really your only option. First, a bit about each. In Fallout 3 you assume the role of  a young, underground vault inhabitant who finds themselves navigating a post-apocalyptic wasteland of Washington D.C. (the Capital Wasteland) in search of Dad. Along the way you encounter mutated animals, horrible raiders and scavengers, and higher-up baddies. The FPS/RPG-style game has you combing the blighted city for answers, while completing quests that further the story (or many that don’t) along the way. In Borderlands you assume the role of one of four character types: Siren (token girl), Hunter, Soldier, or Berserker. You find yourself navigating

    “DEPARTURES” joining the Madman catalogue

The 2009 Academy Award® for Best Foreign Language Film went to the Japanese film “Departures”, and I am tickled “pinku” now that there is news that this award winning film is being added to the Madman Entertainment collection! Here is a synopsis of the film: Daigo Kobayashi is a professional cellist who faces unemployment when his orchestra is dissolved. Upon answering an advertisement entitled “Departures”, thinking it is for a travel agency, Daigo finds himself in the role of Nokanshi, or encoffineer, a funerary celebrant who prepares bodies for entry into the next life. While his wife and others around him despise the job, Daigo takes a certain pride in his work and begins to perfect the art of Nokanshi, acting as a gentle gatekeeper between life and death, between the departed and the family of the departed. Daigo experiences a profound and sometimes comical journey as he uncovers the
