    Yu-Gi-Oh! Updates

Something pretty exciting has been released to the world of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. The Duel Terminals, after success in Japan, have been brought to official tournament stores in the United States. These terminals are arcade style machines that play and teach the trading card game as well as dispense cards to players. Play on the machine can be at one of two levels. Players may choose to skip playing and just get their card. The cards are specially treated so they can be scanned and used inside the game. The terminal cards can also be used as actual cards and, once these unique cards are released in non-terminal products, will be legal for use in tournaments. They hope to bring in foot traffic to the stores that have them as well as increase the enthusiasm for the card game itself. Speaking of tournaments, the Pegasus League has finally

Very little movement in UK Game sales charts

It looks like the UK Game Sales charts are not going to budge through the gift giving holiday. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is still making money sitting at the top of the charts while the top five is rounded out by FIFA 10 (2), Wii Fit Plus (3), Wii Sports Resort (4), and Assassin’s Creed II (5). The top four basically shuffling position between themselves. James Cameron’s Avatar: The Game enters the countdown at number 12. Probably because of the movie release. The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks losing traction and falls from 12 to 18 this week. Even though Zelda may have fallen a bit, Nintendo is still the publisher with the most titles on the sales chart going into the holiday season.

Blizzard to develop a console game at some point

In a recent interview with Gamasutra, J. Allen Brack (production director of World of Warcraft) said that “We will definitely work on a console game at some point. I have no doubt about that. It’s just [a matter of] what game. What makes the most sense?” As a company who’s main focus is PC games, it’s interesting to see that they would be interested in making a console game, but they also bring up some good points as to why they haven’t done so yet. The thing that would be interesting to see is what they would develop for the console. Hopefully not Starcraft as RTS games really just belong on the PC since in my opinion the controls just don’t work for console controllers. The Diablo franchise might be able to be made for consoles, and WoW would be iffy. But maybe their console game could be this secret
