Did you know that one of the most popular game at the moment has its own TV series? If not, you don’t come by to say hi to us often enough methinks. Anyway, HALO LEGENDS is coming to Australia on the 3rd of March 2010 thanks to Madman Entertainment and Warner Bros, and will be available on DVD and Blu-Ray.

The series is in the same kind of format as The Animatrix and Batman Gotham Knight, and is the combined efforts of Japanese animators Shinji Aramaki and Mamoru Oshii as well as in conjunction with Microsoft Game Studios’ 343 Industries, Halo franchise development director Frank O’Connor and managing editor Kevin Grace.

If you would like to check out a trailer then we already have one here for you from SDCC!

There will be a 2-Disc Special Edition of Halo Legends which has “hours of incredible bonus features” including:

  • The Making of Halo Legends – An introduction to Halo Legends followed by a making-of segment for each episode.
  • Halo: Gaming Evolved – Explaining the Halo phenomenon from its inception as an Xbox video game to a present day entertainment franchise.
  • Audio Commentary with directors Frank O’Connor and Joseph Chou

The Blu-Ray version has those features included, but there’s more! You lucky Blu-Ray owners also get to see ‘Halo: The Story so Far’, an overview of the Halo universe up until the end of the Halo 3 game.

Halo franchise development director Frank O’Connor:

“HALO LEGENDS offers fans stunning, new creative visions of the popular video game’s expansive universe, providing added depth and perspective to these beloved characters and thrilling environments,” said Frank. “It is a perfect complement to the game’s growing canon of ancillary entertainment options.”

No word as to how much it will cost, but again look out for it on March 3rd, 2010!
