New Dragon Age: Origins DLC on the way!

By: Cherith

BioWare, announced today that the Return to Ostagar DLC for Dragon Age: Origins will be released on January 5 in North America and Europe for the Xbox 360 and PC versions of the game at a cost of 400 BioWare or Microsoft Points. The DLC will be available for the PS3 later in January. Return to Ostagar allows players to embark on a quest for the mighty arms and armor of the once great King Cailan when they revisit Ostagar, the site of the Grey Wardens’ darkest hour, to reclaim the honor and learn the secrets of Ferelden’s fallen king.

“We are thrilled at the way the fans have embraced Dragon Age: Origins and we’re excited to welcome them back into the game,” said Aaryn Flynn, General Manager and Vice President, BioWare Edmonton. “Return to Ostagar represents BioWare’s commitment to providing a steady stream of compelling post release content as we continue to expand the Dragon Age universe.”

If you’re like me, and still barreling your way through all the different origin stories, this will be a great addition to your game in order to take that finished storyline character out and get him or her some more action.

I felt so angry and betrayed by the way my female Dragon Age character was essentially cut out of the story at the end of the game, I can't find any enthusiasm to purchase further content from this franchise. I loved the game up until the end, now all I feel is a giant "meh."

Awww. Do you have an earlier save you could go back to and get a different ending? I had an ending like that, and it just motivated me to try again with an old save. Plus, make a billion more characters to find out what the other endings were like.

Yeah, I went back and replayed to get a sort-of better end. Not a happy end, but vaguely more satisfying, and at least one where other NPC characters reacted appropriately, instead of being all happy and uncaring about what I considered a pretty damn tragic end.***SPOILER WARNING***My issue is with Morrigan's offer. It really irritates me that the offer is essentially only made available to male characters. If you play as a girl, she asks you to go get the male NPC to participate in the ritual, instead of offering some kind of equivalent deal that would actually include the female character. I felt like my character was cut out of the story, or any future sequels at that point, in favor of the male romantic subplot. Morrigan was the "A" story. I, as a girl, was not the "A" story.***SPOILER END***Sorry to be so negative, I really did enjoy the game throughly up until that point, but I was so disillusioned, I've lost any interest in seeing what else they have to offer in this franchise.
