Nintendo’s NPD numbers came out and it’s hardly any surprise that the DS and Wii were the number 1 and 2 selling systems for the month. The Wii sold more than 1.25 million units in November and the DS/DSi sold 1.7 million.

“Nintendo products top Amazon.com’s Most Wished For and Most Gifted lists for video games, and Wii remains at or near the top of the most-searched for video game terms on Yahoo!,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “As families and friends gather for the holidays, Nintendo games offer the best shared experiences.”

Four Nintendo games were in the top 10 best seller list. New Super Mario Bros Wii came in at number 3, Wii Sports Resort at number 6, Wii Fit Plus at 7 and Mario Kart Wii at 10.

i love my wii so i’m not surprised it’s continuing to sell but i also want a more robust system and wonder if continued high sales will equate to stagnated development. i know we’re not getting an hd wii but power is awesome so they should definitely be working on something!
