Bejeweled Twist makes its console debut on the Nintendo DSi today as PopCap Games continues its expansion into DSiWare. The second PopCap title released for the DSi in as many weeks, Bejeweled Twist also promises unique features and gameplay adapted specifically for the DSi, including a multiplayer “Battle” mode in which players can challenge each other using the DSi’s wireless communication capabilities.

“Bejeweled Twist is a novel take on the match-3 puzzler, and this adaptation of the game for DSiWare was a superb opportunity to simultaneously retain the ‘fun’ element of Bejeweled Twist and to take the game into a new direction that is perfect for the DSiWare system,” said Ed Allard, vice president of strategic development at PopCap. “Players are going to love the depth of this strategic game, the price point, immediate availability over the air, and the challenging new multiplayer capabilities.”

I am particularly excited about this release, knowing how much I thoroughly enjoyed the original Bejeweled Twist, and having quite the road trip planned for later this week… Time to load up on some DSi points!
